Chris has been playing guitar and doing a bit of singing since his college days and has been in a number of bands over the years including several with his daughter Melissa. He is the founder of SO and also plays lead guitar in Kissin' Whiskey.
Influences:
Grateful Dead
Radiohead
Miles Davis
Opeth
Tragically Hip and way too many others to mention...
Jeremy (Mr. Growl) Gibson
As one of the two lead singers of Scarlett Oasis (and the occasional random percussionist) he is very excited to be performing again after a long 10 year hiatus! He is one of the two original members of the band left and has been happy to perform for many different types of crowds playing all sorts of different types of music! His biggest support group is definitely his wife Kiana and of course the biggest fan of the band and unofficial member his son Jayden.
Biggest influences:
Queen
Sebastian Bach
Chester Bennington
Favorite music: Anything from the 80’s
Best known for? The “Jeremy” growl and of course the random percussion instrument solos!
Melinda D (The Unicorn)
Melinda grew up surrounded by music from her dad's family polka band to her school years of theatre, select choir, college acapella group, church worship team, etc. She's even sang the national anthem at the Bills stadium. She's honored to be one of the lead singers (and only female) of Scarlett Oasis. When not on stage with her band, you can find her spreading unicorn sparkle, supporting the local music scene like her husband Rick's band, Hall Pass, or hanging out with her husband and their morkie, Stella.
Melinda's influences are:
Kelly Clarkson
The Beatles
Susan Tedeschi
Yellowcard
Alanis Morrisette
Rich is the bassist and used to play in "Rock Bottom" back in the 90s. He is also a founding member of the infamous "The Mighty Flesh Pendulum". His role is that of the band's token metalhead and yacht rock aficionado. Figure that out, he can't.
Influences:
Geezer Butler
Steve Harris
James Jamerson
Carol Kaye
Funny, he plays like none of them.
Tom is the elder statesman of Scarlett Oasis (as well as almost all the bands he's been in for the last 10 years).
Former bands include:
3 Peace - hard rock power trio
High Voltage - AC/DC tribute
Paradoxx - arena rock covers
The Mason Tyler Band - alternative country originals
Influences (the guys that play/approach the instrument the way he would like to):
Keith Moon
Tommy Aldridge
Ian Paice
Simon Phillipps
Neil Peart
Todd Sucherman
Our two biggest fans who come down and listen to us practice. Some of the inspiration of the SO name comes from the doggoes...
